Kebakaran hebat melanda rumah warga di Sarolangun, diduga berasal dari kebocoran gas LPG di dapur. Kejadian ini tidak memakan korban jiwa, namun menyebabkan kerugian besar. Tim pemadam kebakaran masih berusaha mengendalikan api.
Suasana di RT 03, Kelurahan Pasar, Kecamatan Sarolangun, Kabupaten Sarolangun mendadak mencekam pada Sabtu siang, (31/8/24). Tepat pukul 11:30 WIB, sebuah rumah permanen milik warga dilalap si jago merah, menyebabkan kepanikan dan kerumunan warga yang berusaha membantu.
Kebakaran yang mengejutkan itu diduga bermula dari dapur rumah korban. Menurut Riki, seorang warga sekitar yang berada di dekat lokasi kejadian, terdengar suara gas bocor beberapa saat sebelum api berkobar hebat. "Penyebab diduga dari gas, ada suara gas bocor, soalnya pemilik rumah habis masak," ujarnya dengan wajah masih tegang mengingat kejadian tersebut.
Kobaran api yang begitu cepat menyebar membuat warga sekitar panik. Mereka berusaha sekuat tenaga untuk menyelamatkan apa yang bisa diselamatkan, namun api yang besar dengan cepat melahap atap dan sebagian besar barang-barang di dalam rumah. Beruntung, tidak ada korban jiwa dalam peristiwa ini, namun kerugian materiil yang ditimbulkan cukup besar.
Tim pemadam kebakaran setempat segera tiba di lokasi untuk memadamkan api. Hingga berita ini diturunkan, petugas pemadam kebakaran masih berjibaku mengendalikan sisa-sisa api yang membara, agar tidak merembet ke rumah-rumah di sekitarnya.
Peristiwa ini menjadi pengingat bagi warga akan pentingnya kewaspadaan dalam penggunaan alat-alat yang berkaitan dengan gas, terutama saat memasak. Kebocoran gas, meskipun tampak sepele, bisa berujung pada musibah besar seperti yang terjadi kali ini.
Pihak berwenang diharapkan segera melakukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut untuk memastikan penyebab pasti kebakaran dan memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat agar kejadian serupa tidak terulang lagi di masa depan.(*)
