Seorang pemuda Jambi ditangkap setelah memanfaatkan akun Instagram untuk mempromosikan situs judi online. Dengan keuntungan Rp 18 juta, kini ia menghadapi ancaman hukuman 10 tahun penjara dan denda Rp 10 miliar.
Di balik akun Instagram @liaranjambi.id yang dikenal dengan konten-konten balapan liar dan modifikasi motor, tersimpan kisah aktivitas ilegal yang kini berujung pada jeratan hukum. Bayu Wicaksono (19), pemuda asal Jambi yang menjadi admin akun tersebut, berhasil menarik perhatian aparat hukum setelah terungkap bahwa ia telah mempromosikan situs judi online selama dua tahun terakhir.
Subdit Cyber Ditreskrimsus Polda Jambi tidak tinggal diam. Setelah melakukan patroli siber, mereka menemukan bahwa akun @liaranjambi.id, yang memiliki lebih dari 58 ribu pengikut, secara aktif mengendorse situs judi online skor88. Tak butuh waktu lama bagi polisi untuk melakukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut. Pada 24 Agustus 2024, Bayu ditangkap di kediamannya di Jalan Lingkar Barat, Alam Barajo, Kota Jambi.
"Ini adalah contoh kasus di mana media sosial digunakan untuk aktivitas ilegal yang berbahaya. Bayu mengendorse situs judi online, yang jelas-jelas melanggar hukum. Kami telah mengawasi akun ini sejak lama dan akhirnya mengumpulkan bukti yang cukup untuk melakukan penangkapan," ujar AKBP Taufik Nurmandia, Wakil Direktur Reserse Kriminal Khusus (Wadirreskrimsus) Polda Jambi, Sabtu (31/8/2024).
Bayu, yang memulai akun @liaranjambi.id pada tahun 2020 dengan tujuan awal sekadar berbagi konten balapan liar dan modifikasi motor, melihat peluang ketika jumlah pengikutnya meningkat. Ia mulai menerima tawaran endorsement dari berbagai pihak, termasuk promosi situs judi online. Dengan bayaran Rp 150 ribu per postingan, Bayu berhasil mengumpulkan keuntungan sebesar Rp 18 juta selama dua tahun.
Namun, uang yang ia dapatkan dari aktivitas ilegal ini tak hanya digunakan untuk memodifikasi motor—hobi yang memang sudah digelutinya sejak lama. Ironisnya, sebagian dari penghasilannya juga ia gunakan untuk berjudi online, tindakan yang kini menjeratnya dalam masalah hukum serius.
"Kami menemukan bahwa selain skor88, pelaku juga pernah mempromosikan beberapa situs judi online lainnya. Ini bukan hanya tentang melanggar hukum, tetapi juga tentang menyebarkan kebiasaan buruk yang bisa merusak banyak orang, terutama generasi muda yang mengikuti akun tersebut," tegas AKBP Taufik.
Saat ini, Bayu menghadapi ancaman hukuman berat. Ia dijerat dengan Pasal 45 ayat 3 juncto Pasal 27 ayat 2 UU Nomor 1 Tahun 2024 tentang Perubahan UU Nomor 11 Tahun 2008 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (ITE), dengan ancaman pidana penjara paling lama 10 tahun dan denda hingga Rp 10 miliar.
Kasus ini menyoroti bahaya penyalahgunaan media sosial, terutama di kalangan anak muda yang melihatnya sebagai peluang cepat untuk menghasilkan uang. Namun, dengan melakukan promosi terhadap aktivitas ilegal seperti judi online, risiko yang mereka hadapi jauh lebih besar daripada keuntungan yang didapat.(*)
